CLUB INFORMATION

HISTORY

The club was formed in 1888 as 'Blagdon and West Mendip Cricket and Quoit Club' and only played in friendly matches until joining the Bristol & District League in 1975.

We have played at a number of grounds in our history but have been based at the picturesque 'Bartons' since 1947. The full list of grounds we've played at are as follows:

Period Name
1888-1902 The Park, Coombe Lodge
1903-1908 Rocks Corner, Coombe Lodge
1909-1920 The Park, Coombe Lodge
1921-1928 The Recreation Field
1929-1939 The Park, Coombe Lodge
1947- The Bartons, Bath Road

We currently field two senior teams on a Saturday and one on a Sunday. We also field youth teams at Under 11, 13 and 15 levels and organise KWIK cricket sessions during the summer.

WEB SITE

This site was created in 2000 and has been redesigned many times over the years. It is very much statistically focused but that's what happens when the club scorer and statistician is also the webmaster!!

We do have a 'play cricket' web site but it is used mainly for the youth element of the club, as the team Managers can upload information to it a lot quicker and easier than they can on here.

The site is best viewed with the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox or Google Chrome at a resolution of 1024x768 or higher.
