The opening youth game of the season against Barrow Gurney fell victim to the weather last night. The game will be re-arranged shortly and details of the date will be posted here as soon as it is known.
Congratulations go to Wessy and Buffy who gave birth to a baby boy at 11pm last night. He weighed in at 6lb 4oz and is named Jacob.
We batted first and reached a competitive 203-8 in our allotted 40 overs thanks to a masterful 131 not out from Wessy (his 23rd century for the club) who was ably assisted in a 93 run partnership for the fifth wicket by Jimmer (26). Jimmer then starred with the ball as well as he returned career best figures of 4-24. Huddy also bowled well to pick up 2-34 and Butchy (1-20), Witho (1-24) and Smalls (1-25) were the other wicket takers. To top off his century Wessy also held three catches to complete a memorable day for him. View the full match details here. A A
We batted first after Byo had won the toss and got off to a great start as Boardy (77) and Stiff (36) put on 97 for the second wicket. Late hitting by Byo (44) got us up to a competitive total of 206-8 in our allotted 45 overs. Our bowlers then made light work of the Y.M.C.A. batsmen as they were dismissed for just 68. Smalls (2-2) and Byo (2-15) were the pick of the bowlers and Buckers (1-0), Butchy (1-6) and Witho (1-16) also chipped in with a wicket apiece. View the full match details here. A A
Due to the wash out of the first night's coaching last Tuesday I have arranged an inter-team (10 a side.. Barrington rules) match at the Bartons this coming Monday 26 April. It will be a prompt 6pm start to provide the chance of a warm-up game. There will still be the usual Tuesday night coaching and the first match of the season will be the U13's Home Cup game versus Barrow Gurney on Thursday 29th April. A A
The B&D Cup fixtures were announced tonight and we have been drawn at home against Portway in the first round with another home game against either St Mary Redcliffe or Alveston if we win the first round match.
Our match against Congresbury today has also fallen victim to the weather with the pitch being too wet to play on.

The 1st XI played their last match of the season against Hargreaves Lansdown tonight and won by 16 runs.
