The 2nd XI were involved in two games against Congresbury and D.E.F.R.A. tonight and won them both to climb to fourth place in the league.

The first match saw Congresbury bat first and score a competitive 74 all out with Tippo returning the best figures of 2-11 and Robbo (1-22) also picking up a wicket.

We reached the victory target in the ninth over for the loss of just two wickets thanks to great knocks of 26 not out by both Robbo and Boardy.

We batted first in the second match against D.E.F.R.A. and scored an impressive 95 all out with Robbo (14) and Boardy (13) both batting well again.

A battling knock of 32 by D.E.F.R.A. opener Phil Gilder almost saw them reach the victory target of 96 but Witho took a great catch off Tippo in the last over to seal a thrilling three run victory. Tippo (2-22) once again returned the best figures and Witho (1-21) also picked up a wicket.

The 2nd XI were involved in two closely fought games against Almondsbury and Old Down tonight and came away with one win and one defeat.

The first match saw Almondsbury bat first and score an impressive 104-3 in their allotted 12 overs with Tippo (1-24) and Robbo (1-27) being the only wicket takers.

Our run chase started well with both Robbo (23) and Boardy (15) scoring freely but after they were dismissed the runs dried up and we lost our last wicket with four balls to go and eight runs still needed for victory.

Old Down batted first in the second match of the night and scored a competitive 91-3 on their allotted 12 overs with Tippo (2-27) taking his wicket tally for the season to 21.

We managed to reach the victory target of 92 off the very last ball of the match with just one wicket left thanks to a battling 25 from Witho and a brutal 10 from Boardy.
