YOUTH REPRESENTATIVES AT 'CORNERS' LEVEL

We were represented in the Somerset NW region of the recent half-term 'Corners' competitions by no less than 6 players (Tom Coles, Doug Gray, Jack Lyons, Clayton Davies, Tom Blanchard and Alex Fudge) who played in a total of 15 games within their respective age groups. All returned impressive performances but none more so than Tom Coles (U14's) who took pride of place with a match winning and faultless innings of 94 (unluckily just missing out on his first century for the club) against the SE.

Tom Blanchard meanwhile either side of the Corners, in which he batted and bowled with his usually consistency, was also playing for the County U12's team. In the latest of those games against Buckinghamshire, as well as for his batting, Tom also hit the headlines for a spectacular catch the account of which is in the match report (view scan) published in the Independent on 18th June.

Recently The North Somerset Youth Cricket League have also selected 4 of our players to represent them in games later in the summer against Nailsea CC and the B & D league. And you've guessed it, as well as Alex Fudge (U13's v B & D) and Cameron Hastie (U15's v B & D) both Tom Blanchard (U13's v Nailsea) and Tom Coles (U15's v B & D) will be there too!.

Well done to all !

CAR BOOT SALE BEING HELD AT GROUND
posted by 'H' on Tuesday, 13 June, 2006

As part of this seasons fundraising effort the Cricket Club have, therefore, decided to run a Car Boot sale on the cricket ground on Saturday 8th July between 10am and 12:30pm. Set-up will be from 08:30am. The cost per pitch is £6 in advance or £8 on the day. Bookings can be made via our Club Secretary - Andy Cadman on 01761 462747 or via email to acadman@btinternet.com. As club supporters we would hope that you will wish to take advantage of this chance to help both your own and club funds!

I am coordinating all the other organising, part of which will be the sale on the day of refreshments, so ...... Mums (or Dads) offers gratefully accepted from those of you who can help out, making cakes, 2 or 3 persons preparing and selling drinks (possibly ice creams if nice weather!). Please let me know if and what you can contribute so that I have an idea of the numbers!

The event is being advertised in the local papers and Parish magazine. Flyers (as attached) will also be distributed throughout the area. Please feel free to print off a version for display where you are. Lets hope we get fine weather on the day!

Many thanks in anticipation of your support.
