All,

KWIK Cricketers/Youths/Seniors Presentation Evening and Dinner 2007
Friday 9th November in Ubley Parish Hall commencing at 7.30pm

Well it's now only 3 weeks before our annual end of season Presentation Evening and as previously indicated it is again being organised to bring together all elements of the Club for combined presentations and dinner. Please aim to arrive at 7:15pm ready for a start to proceedings at the more usual time of 7:30pm.

As last year we hope that a good number of Youths/Parents and Seniors will be present either side of the meal for both ceremonies. The older 'youth' players have made an even greater contribution at Senior level this year and our continuing youth teams integration at this level is making them feel a real part of the club, which we are naturally keen to encourage.

The order of events is as follows :-

19:30-20:30 --- KWIK Cricketers/Youth Presentations

- KWIK cricketers who completed the course will receive their Certificates.
- 'Player of the Year' trophies will be presented at age levels U11's, U13's and The Hugh Tippett memorial trophy will be presented at U15's level for the 'Young Player of the Year'
- 'Clubman of the Year' trophies will be awarded at all three age levels too.
- 'Most Improved Player' trophies will also be presented at each level.
- The presentation will conclude with the existing Keith Board Memorial trophy going to our 'Most Promising Young Player'

20:30 - 21:30 approx --- Dinner

- There is again a varied choice being offered for both Adults and Children. All the meals are detailed as per the pre-booking form which can be downloaded here, so would you please return the pre-booking form NO LATER THAN 2nd NOVEMBER to Sharon Blanchard as per instructions.
- On the drinks front the Hall has a variety of beverages on sale including Lager, Real Ale, Draught Guinness, Bottled Cider and also all the usual wines/spirits and soft drinks etc. Tea and Coffee will also be available after the meal.
- Even if you do not wish to have a meal there is ample area/seating around other tables being provided at which you can enjoy the proceedings, have a few drinks etc and stay and mingle as long as you wish.

21:30-2200 --- Seniors Presentations

- 'Player of the Year' trophies will be presented to 1Ist, 2nd and Blades
- 'Clubman of the Year' is awarded to one of the Seniors.

General

As the evening is a private function, we only hire the Hall, some help is needed beforehand in setting up the tables/chairs/mini stage (Sharon will ask around a few of you locally!) but more particularly in putting away these things afterwards and tidying up in the kitchen. We do not enlist an outside events company to make it all happen so would you please be prepared to stay on for another 15/20 minutes or so at the end of the evening to help with these tasks.

Instead of running the usual raffle, as an alternative fundraising effort, you will recall in earlier emails that we are producing some good quality Cricket Club Xmas Cards (3 choices will be available, two are snow scenes showing views of the Church from just below the bottom end of the cricket ground and for the pure cricketing buff a traditional summer cricketing scene across the square) - click here to download samples of them. The intention is to have a good supply of these available on presentation night for immediate purchase. These cards with envelopes are being sold in packs of 10 (any picture combination) for £5. On the night a lucky number ticket will be given with each pack [3 tickets if two packs purchased] to draw for some bottles of spirits and wines. It is very much hoped that club members and their families will support this venture and purchase a pack and/or be prepared to help distribute/sell supplies elsewhere. Depending on demand further printing runs can be quickly organised. In the event that you are unable to attend the evening but would still wish to be able to obtain some supplies then please contact Graham Withers on 01761 462377 or via graham@cfs-ricoh.co.uk and he will make arrangements to get them to you.

I look forward to seeing you all on Friday 9th November for what should be another very enjoyable occasion.

Lionel Harrison - Youth Organiser.

PS Please feel free to pass on a copy of the pre-booking form to anyone who may not have online facilities.
