After
yet another late arrival by Bristol Indians, the game was reduced to
40 overs per side and the Indians were asked to bat first on a soft
wicket.
Early Breakthoughs from Nairn and then Butcher put Blagdon in control
and although there was some resistance from the Indian middle order
aided by 8 dropped catches!!, Blagdon ensured that they were only chasing
an under par total of 128 for 9.
After Tea, and despite the early loss of Jeremy Board, Ian Nairn and
Simon Westbrook batted well and always looked in total command of the
frustrated Indian bowlers. Westbrook was eventually dismissed for 37
with the game all but over but Nairn got to 49 not out with just 3 runs
needed for victory when the "confused" Mark Sage smashed a boundary
to win the game but deprive Nairn of his maiden fifty for Blagdon.
Three wins out of three games now for the rampaging Blagdon!
