North Somerset Youth Cricket Under 11 League - Playing Rules

Players must be under the relevant age at the 1st September in the previous year. Games are played on Sunday mornings commencing at 10.00am. Each game consists of 1 innings per side with each team comprising 10 players (up to a maximum of 12 if agreed between respective Managers). Each batting side is divided into pairs, each pair bat for 4 overs changing at the end of the 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th or (20th) overs, so each innings is of 20 overs (or 24). Batsmen have unlimited 'lives' & each life results in 6 runs being deducted from the total. No batsman, who is out for any reason, faces the next ball & batsmen change ends at the fall of each wicket except on the last ball of the over. Each player on the fielding side, bar the wicket keeper, bowl at least one over & no player bowls more then 1/5th of the total overs actually bowled. Each team commences its innings with a score of 200 runs. The winning team are the side scoring the higher number of runs after deductions for loss of wickets. Two points are awarded for a win and one point for a tie.
