SUNDAY, 18 JULY vs CLEEVE at BLAGDON
Blagdon 251-6, Cleeve 194-7 - Won by 57 runs

We lost the toss and were asked to bat first on a damp, lifeless wicket. We struggled for the first 16 overs, only netting 21 runs (of which 14 were scored by Martyn Mail). Their bowling was tight and accurate and they netted their 6 wickets in this spell. Will and Tom put plenty of spark into the final pairing and added an excellent 30 runs. Obviously risks were taken and Cleeve were very unlucky not to pick up 3 wickets.

Will and Tom then opened the bowling with two maiden overs and two quick wickets. From then on Cleeve had too big a task and with some season-best bowling from the support, we kept the score down to 194 after the 20 overs. The rain kept off and it was a lovely match.
