This was a close one. Blagdon captain Archie Wall lost the toss and we were put into bat first. We started well enough with a new opening pair of Clayton and Ed who put on 16. We then lost a quick wicket with El being smartly bowled by Wemyss, but she clawed back the runs lost and pushed the score up to 220. Things slowed with Peter, Wesley, Jordan and Adam only adding another 19 before the final pair of Will and Archie. They stormed away hitting six 4s to finish the innings on a terrific 271 for 5 after the twenty overs.

This looked good enough except that Hughes smashed the first ball for 4 but Will was having none of that and clattered his wicket with the next delivery. Some ferocious bowling ensured a steady haul of wickets backed up by good fielding restricted Congresbury to 255 for 7 and we finally won with ease. Will Yard was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 18 off 4 overs, while Jack and Clayton grabbed two each at vital moments.
