Blagdon 250-8, Failand & Portbury 220-11 - Won by 30 runs


We played a rearranged match against Failand on a really beautiful summer evening. Having won the toss we elected to bat first but lost two quick wickets in the opening spell. Failand continued to dominate with very accurate bowling and after 12 overs we had only scored 8 runs. Ed, batting with El, then doubled that and Archie and Will batted well to add 21 for the final pair despite being out twice. We ended our innings on 250 for 8.

Their opening pair made a cracking start with 20 runs and were looking great. Ed was looking expensive at 2 overs for 22 runs and no wickets and so tried slow off - breaks with a little more luck.However, the rest of the team pulled together and wickets started to fall and Failand ended on 220 for 11 at the end.
