SUNDAY, 27 JUNE vs WESTON-SUPER-MARE WONDERS at WESTON-SUPER-MARE
Weston-Super-Mare Wonders 187-10, Blagdon 245-6 - Won by 58 runs

Even without 3 of our main players the team was keen to maintain their winning form against Weston’s second string team.

Wonders batted first and were straight away in trouble as Clayton Davies (1) and Alex Fudge (2) took three wickets in the opening 4 overs. Not letting up the pressure Martyn Mail and Oliver Williams each took a wicket of the next pairing and Wonders were struggling at 185-5. Although Patrick Berwick and Peter Strong also chipped in with a wicket each in the 12th and 16th overs Wonders managed to claw their way back over the 200 mark reaching 202-7. That, however, was the extent of their recovery as Clayton & Alex returned to the attack taking another 3 wickets between them and finishing with impressive figures of 2-1 and 4-2 respectively as Wonders finished on 187-10.

Clayton and George Chamberlain (5) opened our innings and we had 212-1 on the board in their allotted overs. The next pair Alex & Patrick also lost 1 wicket so the score remained pretty static at 214-2. Peter Strong and Oliver Williams although not having scored or lost their wickets, mainly due to wide or wayward bowling, saw the score move on by another 20. In the remaining 8 overs we lost another 4 wickets but still managed to add another 11 runs thanks to Tom Blanchard (6) as we reached 245-6.
