MATCH REPORT

High flying Clevedon batted first on a cool but pleasant evening.

Initially, it looked ominous as the home side added 24 for the first wicket. But Blagdon bowled and fielded with real determination and took wickets at regular intervals to restrict their opponents to a competitive 76 for 9. All seven bowlers contributed but the best figures came from Jacob Hartrey with 3 for 10 from his 3 overs.

Clevedon only used four bowlers in the Blagdon innings and they all bowled accurately. There were contributions right down the order including a hard hit 19 from Archie Stead. Just when we slipped behind the run rate, Hayden Lyons smashed ten runs from the seventeenth over bowled by B. Chapman. But when Hayden was bowled in the final over we still needed our last pair of Captain James Roscow and Matt Smith to take a run a ball, to give us a share of the points.

All in all a very satisfying performance and result against much higher placed opponents.
