The first game of the 2005 season was also the first round of the
cup. Playing away to Claverham, we lost the toss and Claverham elected
to bat.
Blagdons early season net practice must have paid off as after only
6 overs Claverham were on the back foot with 4 wickets down and only
12 runs on the board. Blagdon continued to take wickets and eventually
bowled Claverham out for 65 off 19 overs. Good all round bowling throughout
the team resulted in Jack Lyons (2 wickets for 3 runs), Steve Huggins
(1 for 2) and Angus Yard (1 for 1).
Blagdon reached the required score in 13 overs at a loss of 4 wickets
with Jack Lyons hitting a six off of the last ball. Best batting figure
was Jack Lyons with 25 not out.
