MATCH
REPORT
Both teams suffered from problems of getting a full team together so we played 9 a side.
Blagdon
batted first and started off really well in bright sunny conditions. Good
steady innings’ from the opening 4 batsmen, Alex Chapman (33) and Adam Crooks
(42) with 2 stunning sixes from his first 2 balls. A good steady unbeaten
innings from Jack Bennett (16) saw us to a very respectable total. R Sullivan
had the best bowling figures for Congresbury with 2-17 although 16 of these
came off his first over courtesy of Adam with a four and another 2 sixes,
before being lbw’d on the last ball of the over.
Congesbury
got off to a slow start with some good containing bowling from Simon Hill
1-13 off 5 overs and Nick Bennett with 0-3 off his first 2 overs. A superb
unbeaten 64 from M Bullock and a steady 23 from R Sullivan helped them along
to a good total but falling just short of the required total. 4 good overs
from Josh Chasteney (2-18) helped Blagdon to victory.
