| Match Report: Blagdon batted first and top order batsman Tom Blanchard 79 n.o.and Clayton Davies 49 n.o. destroyed the Nailsea bowling attack both playing top cricket with some masterful strokes. Nailsea tried 8 bowlers but had no answer to Blagdon’s firepower resulting in Tom and Clayton setting an unbroken Blagdon partnership of 128 runs for the second wicket in the allotted 20 overs. Blagdon ended their innings on 143 for 1 setting Nailsea a stiff chase of 7 an over to win. Blagdon's seam bowlers were soon on the rampage with Jordan Payne taking 3 wickets and Jack Tickoo 2 wickets as Nailsea lost 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Resistance did come from Nailsea’s opener Tim Lock who scored a credible 43 runs before being bowled by Clayton Davies. On the night Blagdon were good value for their win conceding only one wicket and taking 8 wickets in their 18 run victory. This was an excellent result for Blagdon U13s against Nailsea last years league champions (most of their cricketers were U12s last year) and who were undefeated in the league this year. Managers comments:A top drawer batting performance from Tom Blanchard and Clayton Davies with an undefeated second wicket parnership of 128, ending on 143-1 in just 20 overs! When was the last time Blagdon’s U13s scored 143 runs in 20 overs and is it a new record for the 2nd wicket parnership?.. Tom has scored 160 runs n.o.in 3 days having scored 81 against Cleeve Comets on Monday 3rd July!. It was good to see Clayton amongst the runs, which no doubt will boost his confidence. On the bowling front Blagdon also have a lot of depth with Jordan Payne bowling top drawer for his 3 wickets closely followed by Jack Tickoo with 2 wickets. The U13's have now won 4 league games and lost 2 giving us a close to the top of league position with 8 points. Created and maintained by Alan Barwick 2006
