| Manager's Report: Blagdon won the toss and elected to bat first on a warm summers evening. Jack Fear( 10 ) opened with Tom Blanchard. Tom and Jack made steady progress before being bowled in the second over. Adam Martin come in at no:3 but unfortunately was run-out first ball leaving Archie Wall to make his home debut this season at no: 4. Tom Blanchard and Archie Wall then proceeded to savage the Wrington bowling attack with Tom Blanchard carrying his bat on an undefeated 76 including 9 fours and a six and Archie Wall also carried his bat on an undefeated 51 including 8 boundaries. Blagdon's final score was 150 for 2, their highest total of the season! Wrington U13's were always going to struggle to obtain the daunting run rate of 7.5 an over to win and so it transpired. Wrington got off to a steady start but were well contained by Blagdon's bowlers in particular Martyn Mail ( 1 wicket ) and Alex Fudge ( 2 wickets ) and Wrington were soon well behind the necessary run rate. Wrington continued on a steady basis and their best batsman was S. Williams (41) not out. The Wrington innings ending after 20 overs on 96 for 4 giving Blagdon a comfortable 54 run victory. |
