Report:
Having been eliminated in the KO Cup 1st round there was now an opportunity to progress instead in the Plate competition. Tom Coles (18) and Clayton Davies (14) gave us a reasonable start but a quick flurry of wickets left us struggling by mid innings on 43-5. However Tom Blanchard (25) and Henry Gay (16) helped recover the situation in the remaining overs and by the time they had departed the total had been substantially moved on into three figures as we closed our innings on a competitive 105-8. Congresbury made steady but slow progress against some tight bowling and were always behind the required run rate but were still in with a chance at 79-3. However the game decisively swung in our favour when Henry Gay in a 2 over spell took 3-11 as the visitors ran out of overs and were only able to reach 92-6, falling 13 runs short of the target.
