Dear Parents/Players,
Youth/Juniors 2007 Winter Newsletter
Due to the premature arrival of our grandson I was unfortunately
unable to attend the presentation evening so there are few
follow up points I would like to mention.
KWIK Cricketers certificates. Surprisingly
there were many unclaimed on the night, so if your child
was one of these then would you please contact Tony George
tony.marisa@btinternet.com (Tel. No. 01761 462048) to arrange
collection. If not they will be issued at the first coaching
session of 2008.
Xmas Cards. Sales of these went very well
to those present on the night and a further printing run
is going to be required. As previously mentioned it is very
much hoped that club members and their families will support
this venture and purchase a pack and/or be prepared to help
distribute/sell supplies elsewhere. If you were unable to
attend the evening but would still like to be able to obtain
some supplies then please contact Graham Withers on 01761
462377 or via graham@cfs-ricoh.co.uk asap so that he can
get some idea of the quantity needed for the next printing
and he will then make arrangements to get them to you.
Next season
Indoor Nets Chew Valley School. Please
make a note that we have booked four consecutive Friday’s
- 4th April, 11th April, 18th April and 25th April 2008
for our usual 7-30pm – 9-30pm sessions.
U11s + U13s ……. 7-30pm to 8-30pm
U15s etc …….…… 8-30pm to 9-30pm
Manager/Assistant/Coach to run a second U11's Team.
There is a possibility in 2008 that numbers may
warrant running a second U11's team, however, this will
require a couple of parents volunteering to undertake this
role and getting a further coach qualified at ECB Level
1. Are you able to help ? if so please let me know otherwise
we will struggle to give many players games in just the
one team for which we will primarily be selecting our strongest
squad.
Somerset CCC v South Africa @ Taunton Sunday 29th
JUNE 2008 - Adults £15 U16s £5 - This
is a 3 Day game and like all matches against touring sides
a sell out crowd is expected, especially on the Sunday,
so you will need to act quickly before all tickets are SOLD
OUT. They are now on sale and can be obtained by calling
the ticket hotline on 0845 337 1875, or by logging onto
the Somerset website www.somersetcountycc.co.uk This is
an ideal opportunity for our Youth players to watch and
learn from a First Class game against an international side.
